The Snyder ST600-C is a three-wheeled economy
car sold by Snyder Technologies. It is classified as a motorcycle, therefore a
motorcycle endorsement on the operator's license is required. It comes as a
well-equipped five-door hatchback. The name is an acronym: ST: Snyder
Technologies 600: 600cc (cubic centimeters, the amount of displacement the
motor produces) C: Car. It comes equipped with one engine option: a wheezing
600 cubic centimeter liquid cooled four stroke twin, and is mated to a
four-speed manual transmission. The engine is located under the rear luggage
compartment. It can be ordered in red or blue paint schemes. The interior is
mostly plastic pieces, but there is faux wood trim on the dashboard and
steering wheel, and the seats are made of artificial leather surfaces. Since
the Snyder sits on three wheels, there is a chance that it may tip
on high-speed corners. Under the front bonnet, the oil and brake fluid
reservoirs are in the corner. There is no power steering option, so there is no
power steering fluid reservoir. Uniquely, it has three front headlights,
similar to the famous Tucker Torpedo. It has plastic wheel covers that help
protect the 12-inch wheels.
Features include but are not limited
to:
Front armrest with storage area
Glovebox
Ashtray
AM/FM CD MP3
compatible stereo (standard equipment)
Storage area under radio
Door
activated dome light
Sunglasses compartment
Grab Handles (rear
only)
Foldable rear bench seat
Removable sunroof :)
The ST600-C has a
base price of around $8,000, and is capable of getting over 65 MPG on a single
gallon of gas in its 3 gallon fuel tank. Snyder Technologies is located in
Steubinville, Ohio. The ST600-C is their only model available. With the growing
popularity of these vehicles as taxis in Asia, Snyder is attempting at
recreating that success here in America. For more information, you can visit
